The most important destination in Bolivia is the Uyuni Salt Flat. With an area of 10,582km², more than 10 billion tons of salt up to 70% of the world’s lithium reserves. This Salt flat is the largest salt flat in the world. is located in an altitude of 3660 m.a.s.l. The temperature during the day is 16°C and during the night is -6°C, So you need to bring heavy winter clothes.
It takes 8 hours by bus from La Paz (the capital of Bolivia) to Uyuni or in a flight 40min. In Uyuni you will find also the reserve Eduardo Avaroa in a tour of 3 days from Uyuni, seeing engrossing landscapes of Bolivia mountains, you will enjoy the first day the gigantic Uyuni salt flat, the train cemetery where you can see the old rusting trains from decades ago, the museum hotel made of salt, an island in the Chiguana desert (South of Bolivia) with tall cacti and petrified coral, the second day a big valley with volcanos, a red lake, flamingos, Vicuñas, the tree of Rock, 3 lakes, hot springs, and the last day geysers and a green lake.
