The first day of this tour is to travel by Train From Cusco To Machu Picchu, and the second day is to visit Machu Picchu. ITINERARY
Our transportation will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. from your hotel in Cusco. Then we will go to the waiting station where the minivans are located, in these stations you have snacks, coffee, milk, water, and even coca leaves. The bus goes from Cusco to Ollantaytambo train station, which is 2 hours away. Once at the station we will take the tourist train to Aguas Calientes that also has a 2-hour trip. During the train journey to Machu Picchu, you will enjoy the view and the landscape of the Andean mountains covered by snow and Inca ruins of the classic Inca Trail. At the Aguas Calientes train station we will be waiting for you again to take you to the hotel.
From 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm you have free time in the town to visit the butterfly sanctuary, the hot springs of the local handicrafts market. Then, around 6:00 pm, we will enjoy a delicious dinner with the group, we will introduce the guide and explain how will be the next day in Machu Picchu.
The group will get up early at 4:00 a.m., to start the trek to Machu Picchu, where the guide will be waiting for you at the entrance, to see the beautiful sunrise in the ruins of Macchu Picchu. This section of ascent to the citadel will take approximately 1 hour and 30 min. After enjoying this magical moment, the guide will give you a guided tour for approximately 2 hours, to especially illuminate you of the rich history of the ancient ruins. After the tour, you will have time to explore the citadel on your own. You can stay in Machu Picchu as long as you want, you can also climb one of the 2 mountains (Machu Picchu or Huaynapicchu mountains), add it in advance. There are in total 4 destinations inside of Machu Picchu, the last 2 destinations are for free, the Sun Gate, and the Inka Bridge.
Then leave Machu Picchu and walk down to Aguas Calientes, on the way you will find the Machu Picchu museum (ticket included). The journey almost finishes, pick up your backpack at the hotel and take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where we will begin our return trip by bus until we reach Cusco. We will drop you off around 9:30 pm at San Francisco square. This time varies according to the availability of the train or the train option you choose.
We have Daily departures for this tour. The weather is dry all year. However, between December and April, there are a few rain spots, but it is not a big deal. Machu Picchu is on the other side of the Andes Mountains and in a lower place, the temperature can be around 25°C during the day and 13°C During the night. This is not a Trekking tour so everybody can do it even if they are old or so young.
