This is a Titikaka lake 2 days tour, which explores the Urus floating Island, Taquile, and Amantani Islands. However, this tour takes 2 nights traveling overnight from Cusco, because the Titikaka Lake is in Puno City, and Puno is 8-Hours from Cusco City. Therefore, This Tour is perfect for people who are in Cusco and want to visit the Titikaka Lake. The bus tickets are included in a commercial Bus Company, nevertheless, you can upgrade the seat kind to enjoy the 8 hours trip overnight.
In the Titikaka lake started the Southamerica civilizations, “The beginning of the Inka empire”. That is why this is a special destination in Peru and highly recommended if you love history.
We will have a meeting in Cusco the day before the Titikaka Lake tour to brief you, or by phone if you are not in Cusco. You will then receive your roundtrip bus tickets from Cusco to Puno. One night before the tour, you will travel overnight leaving Cusco at 10:00 p.m. and arriving in Puno at 6:00 a.m., where we will pick you up. Once in Puno, we will wait at the port to gather all the passengers that come from Bolivia or directly from Lima.
The Titikaka lake tour begins at 7:00 a.m., departing by boat to the floating islands of Uros, it takes 3 hours by boat, once on the Uros floating islands, you will share with the locals and look closely how they live. After another 3 hours by boat, we will arrive at the Amantani island, there a local family will be waiting for you to take you to your accommodation in the basic homestay among the agriculture fields. The local family will supply you with all meals during your stay on the island.
After lunch at the island, all the groups together will walk up to the highest point of the Amantani island, called Pachatata temple = 4200m. It is the best place to take pictures of the blue sacred lake of the Incas. after an illustration by the guide, we will get back home to have dinner, and then you can go out to enjoy typical dances with the local musicians. Go to sleep with the local family when you get tired.

At 7:00 a.m. after family breakfast, we will gather the group and travel by boat to the Taquile island, two and a half hours crossing the lake. You will explore the Taquile Island and receive an explanation about their lives, culture, typical costume while you enjoy a musical performance at the main square. Later, short trekking around the island including lunch in the co-operative restaurant, there are also great handicraft shops on the square that sells exceptional woolen goods. Around the Taquile island, you will see numerous pre-Inca and Inca ruins, before leaving to arrive at 5:00 p.m. in Puno.

We have Daily departures for this tour. The weather is great all year. However, January and February have a few spots of rain, but it’s not a big deal, the lake is in a dry area. Check the Peruvian weather.
The Titicaca lake is in a high area in 3812 m.a.s.l. (12500 F.A.S.L.) that is why the temperatures could be around 10°C During the Day, and 2°C During the night. Therefore, you need warm clothes.
This is not a Trekking tour so everybody can do it, even if they are old or so young. However, we don’t have the means to offer a tour to people with wheelchairs.
On this tour, three meals are included, but you need to bring money to buy something for breakfast, dinner, and to buy snacks. We recommend bringing something like 30 dollars per person.
