In the Humantay lake tour, you will discover a couple of gods of the Inka Mythology, Humantay the queen, and Salkantay snow peak the king, the top of the Andeans range. We have a great team always to serve you the 24Hours, first aid Equipment, Oxygen if you need it, and the best buffets meal of the area.
We will pick you up from your hotel between 4:30 to 5:00 am, then a 4-hour-drive to Soraypampa (3850 m.a.s.l.). In Soraypampa we will have a delicious breakfast to start our day well before beginning our trek. In Soraypampa we will start our trek up to the Humantay Lake (4200 m.a.s.l.) with beautiful views and if the sky is clear enough, we can see the impressive snow-capped Salkantay and Humantay.
It takes 1.5-hour-walking to the lake with low and moderate difficulty, and more than worth it when you see the magical view. It is also possible to rent a horse instead. We will have enough time to take pictures, bring an offer to the Apus, and for the real brave ones; swimming in the lake when it’s sunny! After some free time, we will start our descent to Soraypampa of about 1.5 hours, which is a lot easier than the way up. In Soraypampa lunch will await us and after some rest we return to Cusco where we will arrive around 5 p.m.
We have Daily departures for this tour. The weather is dry all year. However, between December and April, there are a few rain spots, but it is not a big deal. This is a Full-Day Tour arriving in the mountain midday, that is why is probably always sunny. Click to check the Peruvian wheatear.
This is not a hard Trekking tour so everybody can do it. Nevertheless, It is not recommended for people with heart or lung problems.
