Palcoyo Mountain adventure! This stunning destination in the Andes promises a morning filled with breathtaking landscapes and vibrant colors. We’ll start with an early hotel pickup before heading to the charming community of Chiara for a delicious breakfast. After a brief safety briefing, we’ll embark on a scenic hike to Palcoyo, where you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the majestic Ausangate snow peak and the unique wildlife of the region. Prepare your camera for some incredible photo opportunities as we explore the natural beauty that makes Palcoyo a hidden gem in the heart of the Andes. Join us for a day of exploration and discovery!
Start our tour with a morning hotel pickup between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Then, we will drive for approximately 1.5 hours to a small community called Chiara, where a light delicious breakfast will be waiting for us to continue our journey.
Arriving at the base of Palcoyo, you’ll get a safety briefing and an overview of the hike. The hike to Palcoyo takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. The Andes Mountains will appear with vibrant colors and incredible peaks like the Ausangate snow peak, you’ll see wildlife such as camelids and have photo opportunities and short breaks to enjoy the landscape. After this, we will go back to the lunch point, and then make our way back to the city of Cusco, arriving approximately at 5:00 or 5:30 pm.
The drop-off is always at Plaza Regocijo, just 2 blocks from the Plaza de Armas. This is a perfect location for exploring more of the historic center. (Please note that the remaining time will be spent traveling from the pick-up until the drop-off).

We offer daily departures for this tour, and the weather is generally dry throughout the year. There may be occasional rain between December and April, but it’s usually minor. This is a full-day tour, arriving at the mountains by midday, which is why it’s likely to be sunny. Feel free to reach out to us for updates on the Peruvian wheatear.
This trek isn’t difficult, making it accessible for everyone. However, it’s not advisable for individuals with heart or lung issues.
