ITINERARY
We will pick you up between 6:45 and 7:00 am from your hotel in Cusco, then we leave in the direction of the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, where we will visit 4 archaeological zones. First, we will arrive at the colonial city of Chinchero. There we will visit a handicraft shop, the Chinchero archeological center, and the main square, all during 1,5 hours. Then we will go to the next site in the Sacred Valley “Moray”. In Moray, you will see the mysterious Terrazas invention, a unique archaeological site with gigantic natural holes, used to adapt seeds for different environments. The adaptation was possible thanks to the temperature differential of 12°C, between the bottom and the surface.
Then we will visit another invention called the salt mines that the Incas used to establish trade to prosper. Afterward, we will go to the Urubamba Valley where you can enjoy an exquisite buffet lunch.
After a delicious lunch, you will continue to the Ollantaytambo Fortress, to discover its impressive Temple of the Sun. During the Inca civil war, this imposing structure of 12 feet (3.5 m) of stones served as a defensive barrier. This tour will be approx. 1 hour. then we will take the train to Aguas Calientes. where our assistant will wait for the group and take you to the hostel. then we will meet at the main square to go to the restaurant to have dinner and talk about the next day. After dinner, you have free time to enjoy the city, drink something, visit the hot springs or visit a handicraft shop.

On the second day, the group will get up early at 4:00 a.m., to start the trek to Machu Picchu, where the guide will be waiting for you at the entrance, to see the beautiful sunrise in the ruins of Macchu Picchu. This section of ascent to the citadel will take approximately 1 hour and 30 min. After enjoying this magical moment, the guide will give you a guided tour for approximately 2 hours, to especially illuminate you of the rich history of the ancient ruins.
After the tour, you will have time to explore the citadel on your own. You can stay in Machu Picchu as long as you want and after that, you can walk back to Aguas Calientes, on the way you will find the Machu Picchu museum (ticket-included), then pick up your backpack at the hotel and take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where we will begin our return trip by bus until we reach the Plaza de San Francisco in the city of Cusco around 9:30 pm until 10:00 p.m. This time varies according to the availability of the train or the train option you choose.
Note: there are a few options to choose to return from Machu Picchu by train to Cusco in different hours when you are booking, it is up to you, we recommend you the 360° Glass rooftop to return at 4:30 pm, that is a great train.
