Tambopata Reserve Tour 4Days

Navigating the Madre de Dios River into the Amazonas.

We will pick you up from the airport or bus station in Puerto Maldonado City, and transfer you to our office to brief you about the route. At 9:00 a.m. We will get to the boats for an hour to our hostel into the wild Amazonas. Once at the lodge, a welcome meeting with a refreshing tropical juice will wait for you. Then, You will receive your room. After a short break, we will hike for two hours into the dense rain forest, guided by an expert local guide who will take you through our trails to see a variety of trees that may be over five hundred years old. Meanwhile, you can observe some wild animals such as toucans, snakes, butterflies, orioles, parrots, monkeys, etc.

You will have the opportunity to explore the nature of our Amazon jungle within the Tambopata National Reserve (280,000 hectares protected under the Peruvian government)

After lunch, we will visit the “Monkey Island”, located in front of our hostel on the other side of the Madre de Dios River,  there are different kinds of monkeys such as the squirrel monkey, the brown capuchin, the saddle tamarin mount and white cappuccino, you can feed all of them. At night we are going to look for alligators, they are generally on the banks of the Madre de Dios River, with a flashlight we will light them, we will find them thanks to their bright and reflective eyes. With luck we will be able to see the capybara the largest rodent in the world that can weigh 60-kg from the impressive Peruvian guinea pig family. finally, we will return to the lodge to have dinner and sleep.

After breakfast, we will get to the boat to ride to the entrance of Sandoval Park, There we will walk 3 kilometers (2 miles approx.) To the Sandoval Lake (habitat of piranhas), one of the largest From the Tambopata National Reserve, after the beautiful walk, the guide will take a rowboat to navigate all around the Sandoval lake to appreciate many different species like monkeys, the prehistoric Hoatzin bird, Tiger cats, Giant otters, and otters.

High probably we will meet the family of giant river otters (almost two meters long) that are in danger of extinction and the largest registered crocodile of more than 4 meters long. We will return to the lodge to enjoy a typical lunch. later, you can enjoy the swimming pool, enjoy the sunset, and then we will do a night hike to appreciate the diversity of insects, amphibians, reptiles, and other nocturnal animals. Finally, have dinner and rest.

Early in the morning, we will walk on suspension bridges among the tall trees. It will let us see the rainforest from a different perspective, at about 30 meters high, from the bridges we will appreciate the high nature, we will have a panoramic view of the Rio Madre de Dios and observe different species of birds such as toucans, macaws, tanagers, orioles and much more.

After breakfast, we will get ready to do the zip-line 40meters high among the tall trees. The guide will talk about how to use the safety harness during the Zip-line activity, feeling the adrenaline of gliding through the trees, the experience will be forever in your memories. Later, we will return to the lodge to have lunch and rest. In the afternoon you are going to measure your abilities crossing the Madre de Dios River kayaking, at the same time we can appreciate the fascinating sunset. To Finish this day we will fish in the Madre de Dios River, with patience and attention you can catch some big fish that will be your dinner this night.

LEAVING THE TAMBOPATA RESERVE AND THE AMAZONAS.

We will have breakfast early in the morning, then you have time to do your bags and leave the Tambopata Park navigating through the Madre de Dios River. We recommend you to book your bus back in advance. normally we get the Puerto Maldonado city at 10:30 am.
