ITINERARY
We will begin the tour leaving the city of Uyuni at 10:30 a.m. to the Uyuni Salt Flat (full day trip). on the way, we will visit the “Train Graveyard” of Uyuni. afterward, we will visit the small settlement of Colchani (salt miners workshops), we will see handicrafts made of salt and textile art made of llama and alpaca. We will take photos while we toured through the vast expanse of white salt.
Afterward, we will visit the “Ojos de Agua Salada” and a hotel made entirely of salt that is currently a museum. Lunch will be served near the “Isla Incahuasi”, where you will have time to hike to the top of the island and see giant cactus and rock formations made of petrified coral. We will take time to organize the group and be able to take photos with distorted perspectives, thanks to the soft reflection of the Uyuni Salt Flat. Next, we will go to a spacious area to live a unique experience appreciating a beautiful sunset over the salt flats.
We have Daily departures for this tour. The weather is dry all year. However, between December and April, there are a few rain spots, perfect for a mirror effect, with the stars reflecting off your feet. It is very recommended to check the Moon’s Calendar, and If that is possible pick up a new moon date to have a better view. we recommend you also a Stargazing tour so nice if you love the cosmos.
With an area of 10,582km², more than 10 billion tons of salt up to 70% of the world’s lithium reserves, the Uyuni salt flat is the largest salt flat in the world. is located in an altitude of 3660 m.a.s.l. that is why the average temperature during the day is 16°C and during the night is -6°C, So you need to bring heavy winter clothes. Click to check the Uyuni wheater.
This is not a Trekking tour so everybody can do it even if they are old or so young. However, it is not recommended for people with lung problems because of the cold and dry air.
Sunblock.
Sunglasses.
Bottle of water.
Long-sleeved t-shirt.
During the rainy season from January to April, the Salt Flats fill up with water so it is not possible to
cross them in the same way as during the dry season. As a consequence, the itinerary is modified during
that period. The main changes are usually as follows:
Instead of stopping at the Incahuasi (Fish Island), we stop at a place where the water reflects the
sky and where it seems that the sky and the ground merge into one.
